Created by renowned customizer George Barris, the original #1 1966 Batmobile which is regarded as an icon, and one of the world’s most popular and recognized pieces of entertainment history, has now got sold for whopping $4.2 million at auctioneer Barret-Jackson at its 42nd annual Scottsdale auction.
Bought by an Arizona man, this original Batmobile which was based on 1955 Lincoln Futura, and was heavily modified by legendary auto-customizer George Barris to be featured in the iconic TV series Batman, along with the movie adaptation, comes loaded with a number of Batman worthy gadgets.
