1941 Lincoln continental coupé and custom limousine from ‘The Godfather’ goes for sale at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, AZ
Some automobiles are famous for what they are, while others for what they have done. But the pair of classic 1941 Lincolns offered at the Bonhams upcoming Scottsdale Auction on 17th January is notably famous for both, being the limited production automobile of rare distinction and featured in one of the best American films ever made, the multi-generational crime saga ‘The Godfather’ which is the touchstone of cinema. For the likes of collectors and die-hard fans of Francis Ford Coppola’s epic crime film, crossing the auction block without reserve will be a pair of iconic luxury cars from Hollywood blockbuster The Godfather, including the 1941 Lincoln Custom Limousine chosen by iconic film director Ford Coppola as the ride of choice for the enemies of Corleone family, and the 1941 Lincoln Continental Coupe which was driven by Sunny Corleone (character played by James Caan). Notably, these historic automobiles with movie-star status have been consigned to sale from the estate of noted classic car collector Eugene Beardslee.
