Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept at Shanghai Motor Show
The new Mercedes-Benz GLA Concept crossover will make its debut tomorrow at the Shanghai Motor Show in China. Today, however, we have a few high-quality photos to share with you, showing bits of the classy car’s exterior and interior. For a better and more detailed look you will have to wait until tomorrow, when it will officially make its first appearance on stage.
Even though it is based on the A-class wheelbase, the premium crossover is longer, wider and taller than the hatch. Its overall look is more rugged as well with 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 255/45 R20 tires, protection plates under bumpers, wheel arch moldings, roof rails and other styling elements that are typical for crossovers.
Powering the concept is the A250 engine, which is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol one capable of 208 HP. The gearbox is a 7-speed dual-clutch 7G-DCT that sends power to the car’s all four wheels. This, of course, is only what the concept features, but the production version will most certainly come with extra motorization options.
With a toned down design, the production GLA will appear on the market in the first half of 2014, after having made its official debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
