In the history of Hollywood, only a few celebrities have ever amassed a car, motorcycle and airplane collection as impressive as that of Steve McQueen who was not only Hollywood’s highest paid actor, but he was also a truly talented two or four wheels racing driver on sand, road, track and everything in between. Be it the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Berlinetta which was auctioned for $2.3 million, the 1970 Porsche 911S sold for $1.375 million, and the iconic 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf/Mirage that got sold for whopping $11 million; McQueen’s cars are not only legendary and highly valuable, but have also been extensively written about. And like McQueen’s earlier cars, a highly reliable and classy 1951 Chevrolet Styleline DeLuxe Convetible Coupe owned and driven by Steve McQueen frequently in the final movie of his illustrious career ‘The Hunter’ in 1980 is now expected to fetch huge prices at the auction block. A this pale yellow Chevy which was also included in the 2007 book ‘McQueen Machines: The Cars and Bikes of Hollywood Icon’ by Matt Stone is now being offered for grabs by RM Auctions’ on March 22-24 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
